March Builders Theme: I am a builder when I quickly acknowledge mistakes and humbly make amends
We have found that many people will use the words “I’m sorry, but…” when apologizing and admitting to wrongdoing. Try to avoid ever giving any type of excuse when apologizing. Giving an excuse takes the contrition out of the apology itself, no matter how good the excuse is. By simply looking someone in the eye and saying you made a mistake and are sorry, you are more vulnerable, which gives the other person the opportunity to let down their defensive guard and forgive you.
No Checkouts During Builder of the Year Assembly- March 5
No checkouts are allowed during our Builder of the Year assembly. If you need to check out your child(ren) early, you will need to arrive before 12:15 PM.
Secondary Music Concert – March 6
We are excited to see and hear our junior high bands, orchestras, and choirs! We recognize that families who come from farther away must arrive at the performer’s call time. Please wait in the gym, and keep all children off the bleachers. We will dim the lights and begin concert behavior at 6:50 pm.
Refreshments will be sold from 6:30 – 7:55 pm during a short intermission and at the end of the concert. Cash or Venmo only. We appreciate your generous support of our music programs!
Secondary Builders Assembly – March 7, 2:30 pm
Parents are invited to attend our monthly assembly as we celebrate the outstanding builders in junior high! Both choirs will be performing. We hope to see you there!
Parent-Teacher Conferences– March 14
Parent-Teacher conferences are mandatory for our students according to the school handbook. Elementary conferences are scheduled by SignUpGenius. You will be receiving an email soon from your child’s homeroom teacher to schedule this conference. Please arrive on time as conferences are scheduled every 15 minutes.
Secondary staff will be available Thursday from 4-8pm and Friday from 8-12 am; no appointment is necessary for a 4-7 minute conference with a teacher. If you anticipate needing more time, please email the teacher to schedule a separate time.
Mandatory Meeting- Celebration of Excellence – March 25 and 26
If you are planning to return to APA next year and completed your Skyward reenrollment, your next step for enrollment is a Celebration of Excellence meeting. This is a required meeting for all returning families. Please plan to attend one of the following meetings:
March 25th at 6:30 PM
March 26th at 8:30 AM following Show What You Know Assembly

Yearbooks are still on sale! We have extended the deadline for yearbook orders, but the price has increased. The final deadline for yearbook orders is March 7th.

2025-2026 Sibling Application Process
Please use the following link to sign up for an assessment time for any siblings you would like to enroll next year: https://salemenrollment.americanprep.org/siblingassessments-2585. This is the first step in the application process. This process started in November, and there are very few seats left. The earlier you start the application process, the better chances you have of receiving a seat.
Volunteer Hours

Marzo Tema de los constructores: Soy un constructor cuando reconozco rápidamente los errores y hago las paces con humildad.
Hemos descubierto que muchas personas utilizan las palabras “Lo siento, pero…” cuando se disculpan y admiten haber actuado mal. Trate de evitar dar cualquier tipo de excusa al disculparse. Dar una excusa elimina la contrición de la disculpa misma, sin importar cuán buena sea la excusa. Con solo mirar a alguien a los ojos y decirle que cometiste un error y que lo sientes, eres más vulnerable, lo que le da a la otra persona la oportunidad de bajar la guardia defensiva y perdonarte.

No se permiten salidas durante nuestra asamblea del Constructor del Año. Si necesita sacar a su(s) hijo(s) temprano, deberá llegar antes de las 12:15 p.m.
Concierto de Música de Secundaria – 6 de marzo
¡Estamos emocionados de ver y escuchar a nuestras bandas, orquestas y coros de la secundaria! Reconocemos que las familias que vienen de más lejos deben llegar a la hora de llamada del artista. Espere en el gimnasio y mantenga a todos los niños fuera de las gradas. Atenuaremos las luces y comenzaremos el concierto a las 6:50 pm.
Se venderán refrescos de 6:30 a 7:55 pm durante un breve intermedio y al final del concierto. Solo efectivo o Venmo. ¡Apreciamos su generoso apoyo a nuestros programas de música!
Asamblea de Constructores de Secundaria – 7 de marzo, 2:30 p.m.
¡Los padres están invitados a asistir a nuestra asamblea mensual mientras celebramos a los constructores destacados en la secundaria! Actuarán ambos coros. ¡Esperamos verte allí!
Conferencias de padres y maestros- 14 de marzo
Las conferencias de padres y maestros son obligatorias para nuestros estudiantes de acuerdo con el manual escolar. Las conferencias de primaria las programa SignUpGenius. Pronto recibirá un correo electrónico del maestro de salón de su hijo para programar esta conferencia. Llegue a tiempo ya que las conferencias están programadas cada 15 minutos.
El personal de secundaria estará disponible los jueves de 4 a 8 p. m. y los viernes de 8 a 12 a. m.; no es necesaria una cita para una conferencia de 4 a 7 minutos con un maestro. Si anticipa que necesitará más tiempo, envíe un correo electrónico al maestro para programar un horario separado.
